Michael R. Adams, president of the Antelope Valley Community College District Board of Trustees, has issued the following statement concerning Sunday’s tragic vehicle crash involving Superintendent/President Dr. Jackie L. Fisher Sr. and his family.

“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we extend our deepest condolences to the family in their loss. We offer our hopes and prayers to Jackie and his family for a quick recovery,” said board President Michael R. Adams. The campus community was notified via a campuswide e-mail Monday morning that members of the Fisher family had been involved in a crash at the intersection of Backus Road and Willow Springs Road near Rosamond on Sunday.

Dr. Fisher was reportedly airlifted to Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center in Lancaster. He is currently in the intensive care unit. His wife, Carla, and granddaughter, Niana, were also admitted for treatment at the hospital.
